A mystery was revealed in a small Missouri town when an old package was found in the basement of an old post office.

Owen Rogers found the package buried in the basement of a building he’s renovating.

It was sent from San Francisco 84 years ago to Kate Pearson.

Rogers said he fought the urge to open the package and took it to the local postmaster. Rogers vowed they won’t open it until they find the rightful owner.

“Maybe there’s someone watching that is a descendant, and will say, ‘That’s Grandma Kate!’ ”

The package was insured for $5, which in 1925 was about a week’s wages for many people.
